The 1957 Studebaker Pickup may not seem as glamorous as the car lines from that era, but the nostalgia value of the truck is fairly high on the collectors market, due to its relative rarity. Many Studebaker Trucks from this era were used for hard work, and so despite the number of them that were manufactured, quite a few got worn out and scrapped at the end of their useful lives, just like Chevy and Ford model trucks of the same type. Unlike cars, which would have a slightly new look every year, pickup truck models had the same general features for a number of years, so you need to be something of a model expert to note the differences between models on the familiar front end of the Transtar.

Special note: You can find many 1957 Transtar trucks rusting in yards around the country, and parts between 1956 and 1958 may be fairly interchangeable, but if you are looking to do an authentic restoration you should try to get actual parts from the model year.
